Privacy Notice

This is my personal website and blog (tomgreenaway.com). I try to collect as little personal data as humanly possible.

1. Analytics & Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or cross-site behavioural profiling.

To understand basic traffic (such as which articles are being read), this site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first, sets no cookies, and does not fingerprint or track individual visitors across websites.

2. Hosting & Edge Infrastructure

The site is hosted as static files on Cloudflare Workers (Cloudflare, Inc.). When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare processes standard HTTP request metadata (such as your IP address and User-Agent) strictly as necessary to deliver the page and protect the site against abuse (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) – legitimate interest in operating and securing the website).

3. Email Newsletter

If you choose to subscribe to updates in the sidebar, your email address is processed and stored by EmailOctopus (Three Hearts Digital Ltd, registered in the UK) solely to send you occasional updates about my games, experiments, and articles (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) – explicit consent).

• Your email is never sold or shared with third-party advertisers.
• Every email includes a one-click Unsubscribe link at the bottom to withdraw consent at any time (GDPR Art. 7(3)).

4. Embedded Content

Some articles include embedded YouTube videos using YouTube's Privacy-Enhanced Mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which prevents YouTube from storing tracking cookies unless you choose to play the video.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, export, or request erasure of any personal data I hold about you (which, in practice, is only your email address if you subscribed to the newsletter).
